🕑 How to properly set up order acceptance and preparation time🔗
1️⃣ Why is this important?🔗
The correct setup of order timing affects:
✅ convenience for your guests,
✅ avoidance of order confusion,
✅ smooth kitchen and delivery operations.
We will help you understand what and how to configure for different types of orders!
2️⃣ What time should be set depending on the order type?🔗
| Order type | Minimum preparation time | Maximum preparation time (default — 7 days) |
|---|---|---|
| Delivery | For example, 60 minutes | For example, 7 days (a guest can pre-order a buffet for Friday) |
| Takeaway (packaged) | For example, 15 minutes | For example, until the end of the day |
| Dine-in (guest eats at the restaurant) | Usually immediately, but we recommend configuring it as “takeaway” (for example, 15 minutes) | For example, no more than 2 hours |
Important 🔥
When setting the maximum preparation time, consider whether you can realistically fulfill the order.
👉 For example, if you receive a buffet order for Friday that was placed on Monday — will you be able to fulfill it? Will it get lost in the system?
3️⃣ Common questions that often cause confusion🔗
🕒 Example:
You operate from 10:00 to 23:00. The minimum delivery time is 60 minutes.
❓ Can delivery be ordered for 10:01?
👉 No. If the chef only arrives at 10:00, the first order cannot be delivered earlier than 11:00.
❓ If I place an order at 22:59 for delivery at 23:59, will it be fulfilled?
👉 If your restaurant operates until 23:00, such an order should not be accepted, as the fulfillment time would fall outside working hours.
4️⃣ What we need from you for proper configuration🔗
To ensure everything is configured correctly, please answer the following 4 questions for each location:
1️⃣ The restaurant’s working hours (as displayed in the app, on the website, and on signage)
2️⃣ At what time can the first order be placed?
3️⃣ Until what time can the last order be placed?
4️⃣ Minimum and maximum preparation time for orders?
👉 This information must be provided for each location!
📌 Example (for one location)
The Lesnaya location operates from 10:00 to 23:00
-
Delivery:
First order at 11:00, last order at 23:30
Minimum delivery time — 60 minutes.
Maximum period — 7 days. -
Takeaway:
Minimum — 15 minutes.
First order at 10:15, last order at 22:59
Maximum period — 24 hours. -
Dine-in:
Minimum — 15 minutes.
First order at 10:15, last order at 22:30
Maximum period — 2 hours.
5️⃣ Accepting orders outside working hours🔗
We recommend accepting orders 24/7, while limiting only the fulfillment time window.
Based on our experience: up to 18% of orders are placed outside working hours for fulfillment during working hours.
❗ By not accepting such orders, you may lose up to 18% of revenue.
However, some clients prefer to accept orders only during working hours — for example, if they:
- update stop-lists only in the morning;
- are afraid of missing an order in their system.
👉 If you would like to accept orders only during working hours — inform your manager or contact support 🤖 RBCNbot
